Two co-op art galleries in Western Connecticut are cooperating with each other to create a new public outreach event this fall: “Random Acts of Creativity.” The talented artists from both galleries have created over 200 original, one-of-a-kind works of art and are distributing them ‘randomly’ throughout their communities, including: Bantam, Bethel, Bridgewater, Cheshire, Danbury, Naugatuck, New Milford, Roxbury, Sherman, Southbury, Waterbury, Wolcott, and Woodbury. The artists encourage the public to be on the lookout for these diminutive pieces of artwork, wrapped in cellophane and offered for free.

Random Acts of Creativity will be appearing at local shops, libraries, hair salons, restaurants, etc., to raise the public’s awareness of the artistic excellence right in their home towns, and to encourage art lovers to shop locally. These galleries exhibit and sell original paintings, archival photographs, prints, pottery, one-of-a-kind jewelry, stained and fused glasswork, and a variety of other unique artistic creations by award-winning, regional artists and artisans.

Fine Line Art Gallery, a cooperative venture consisting of 15 carefully juried artists and artisans, has been in existence for over two decades, with the goal of celebrating and encouraging the work of the many talented artists in the area. Prices are reasonable, and on any business day, an artist is on site to discuss the artwork, the different media exhibited at the gallery, and the creative process. It is located at 319 Main Street South in Woodbury. For more information, please visit the Fine Line Art Gallery’s website at www.finelineartgallery-connecticut.com, or telephone the gallery (203-266-0110) during its regular business hours, Thursday through Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm and by appointment. Admission is free. Ample parking is available.

Gallery 25 and Creative Arts Studio is a co-op style gallery exhibiting some of the best local fine art and artisan creations. The gallery is staffed by member artists and is affiliated with the New Milford Commission on the Arts. In addition to exhibits, the gallery offers a variety of art-related educational programs, including classes, workshops, and critiques. This new hub of creativity located in the heart of New Milford Village is just off Main Street at 25 Church Street. New business hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, noon to 5 PM; and by appointment. Admission is free. Ample parking is available. For additional information please call 860-355-6009.
