Get Your Map and Get Walking!!!

New Milford Art Walk 2016, organized by Gallery 25 and Creative Arts Studio and the New Milford Commission on the Arts, will take place on Saturday, August 27, rain or shine, from one to six pm.  This year’s event directors are Kayla Ek and Lacee Yurtoglu, both well-known local artists. This free event is designed as an opportunity to cultivate an interest in the visual arts and introduce the public to the many business offerings in the New Milford downtown area.

Visual artists of all media, local businesses and other community participants have joined together for this mostly "downtown" visual art experience. Fine Line Dance Theatre will perform three times during the afternoon (weather permitting) and may be seen near the bandstand on the town green. Several businesses in town are featuring original window paintings and are easily seen when walking nearby. Outside of the village area, the Gregory James Gallery on Rt. 202 is featuring the works by outsider artist Jorge Silveira in “Beyond Boundaries” and The Silo Gallery on Upland Road is featuring the works of local photographer John Kane's Family's, entitled, “The Four of Us”.

A New Milford Art Walk map, including names of participating artists and businesses, and activities will be available on the day of the event at Gallery 25, 25 Church St., New Milford. A special website has been set up to include updated events and participating businesses at: http://newmilfordartwalk.wix.com/event or search on facebook “New Milford Art Walk”.
