Barn Quilt Exhibit Continues through November

Gallery 25 is thrilled to feature these exceptional paintings by fellow artist and gallery member Lorraine Ryan. These paintings referencing New Milford's Barn Quilt Trail - Connecticut's first - includes eight traditional American quilt patterns as  original designs, painted on panels and mounted on historic barns. The trail honors New Milford's farming history - and the exciting revitalization of agriculture.

The eight paintings are on display and are available for sale through December 17 at Gallery 25!! Barn Quilt maps are also available. The gallery is open Thursday - Sunday, from noon to 5 pm.

The barn quilt paintings, as of January 2018, are no longer on exhibit. Four of the paintings sold. Four are available. The gallery thanks Lorraine Ryan for exhibiting these beautiful paintings with us, and we look forward to seeing more of her beautiful works.

Artist Lorraine Ryan at the White Silo!!

The White Silo Farm & Winery at #32, Rte 37 East, in Sherman, CT., is pleased to announce a gallery show of paintings by local artist and Gallery 5 participant, Lorraine Ryan. The paintings will be exhibited from September 1 to October 1, 2017.

In her upcoming exhibit at the White Silo Farm & Winery, Ms. Ryan’s paintings represent her love affair with the fields and forests, the homes and barns and animals, of Litchfield County, as well as other parts of New England.

If you have questions about the dates and ties, please call the While Silo.

Closed for a Little While - We are HAPPY!

This year has had its ups and downs. The gallery is currently down and will be closed for less than three weeks (we hope). This is very good!! We are happy!!

The Town of New Milford via a generous donation from New Milford Commission on the Arts will install enhanced track lighting. Then, town Facilities will clean and resurface the floors, and install a picture rail (we may have a partial donation for this!). We expect to be back in the space by September 25 and open again by the next weekend.

Lots to look forward to! The gallery will join local businesses for Small Business Saturday and will exhibit a fall theme and lots of new artwork!! Our artists have had a busy summer! Then, the gallery will participate in the Wine Stroll in December and facilitate the model train exhibit in December.

All this moving around has taken lots of time and energy. Among those we can thank (at this time) are Paula Marian, Mary and Steve Tanenbaum, and Judith Secco. We know more are due a BIG Thank You! Paula arranged to have the Connecticut Clay Artists exhibit with us. A fabulous show!! Thank you!

More to come as the building enhancements are realized!

Note: the Gallery 25 project for New Milford is wonderful! In August, the gallery hosted more than 200 unique visitors!!! We thank the New Milford Art Walk organizers for most of that. Visitors to New Milford, in some cases, are repeats. They are coming for dinner or for a specific event. then, they "window shop". The gallery artists help with that also (artists love to shop and love to "look around").

Oh! With all this happening, we decided our Open Show will be held in the Spring.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Plan Your Day in New Milford on August 12!

At five in the afternoon on August 12, Gallery 25 will be the center of a wine and cheese reception for the Connecticut Clay Artists (CCA)! This popular show will continue through the month of August, but if you are looking for a special wedding or birthday gift . . . shop on August 12 . . . we cannot put items on "hold". A portion of each sale benefits the gallery, and we very much appreciate your support!

And, WOW, there's more!!

Check out the New Milford Farmer's Market in the morning! (Usually held at the top of the green)

From 1-5 pm, the New Milford Commission on the Arts under the direction of volunteer and artist, Lacee Yurgatlu, will host the New Milford Art Walk 2017. Gallery 25 will be right in the heart of activity as a starting point for the Art Walk. The gallery volunteers will hand out maps indicating locations of approximately 25 artists, who are being hosted by businesses throughout the village area. Lots of other activities going on for those who walk the route. We have been hearing about window painting, a fashion presentation, music, and more! So, get your map and get walking!!

Then, on the bandstand at 7:30 pm, the art commission will present an awesome outdoor concert by local favorites, SongHorse!! (Weather permitting) We suggest you bring a blanket or chair to sit on.

Join Us on July 15 for a Grand Re-opening Reception

We love our new location and are still learning how we may best be available to the visual arts community and serve the public. Our plan at the New Milford Art Depot was to have three great shows over this first year, but artists and the public agree about having the railroad station open as often as reasonably possible!

So, on July 15, Saturday, from 6 - 9 pm, Gallery 25 will post a Grand Re-Opening Reception celebrating our new location. Desserts and other sweets will be served and several of the gallery's artists will be available that evening to discuss their works. Works shown will include paintings, fine art photography, jewelry, pottery, glass, fiber and more!!

Attending a summer wedding, birthday, or graduation?? The gallery has lots of unique pieces that will make a perfect and personal gift. A portion of each sales is a contribution to keep the gallery going and supports your local arts community. Come in and ask about our gallery calendar for the rest of this year, including the New Milford Art Walk on August 12, guest exhibitors, and plans for the holiday season.

We have a new home!!

It's been months and the artists of Gallery 25 have hung in there (pun intended!) hoping for continued support and encouragement from the Town of New Milford and the New Milford Commission on the Arts. We got it!! So many people to thank, especially Mayor David Gronbach, Town Planner Kathy Castegnetta, Economic Dev. Dir. Kevin Bielmeier, the New Milford Commission on the Arts, and New Milford's Zoning Commission. Thank you all!!

As of Wednesday, April 20, we launched a Spring Show in the New Milford railroad station at 11 Railroad Street in New Milford. Still keeping the name Gallery 25, we plan to have new signage that reflect the designation of the railroad station as a community art center. Perhaps calling it the New Milford Arts Depot?

The railroad station is a beautifully restored historic building and we are thrilled to call it home! Still lots to do as we learn about the space and determine shows, hours, programs, etc. But, we are open!!

And,  our mission is to encourage and provide gallery opportunities to a variety of artists of all levels, offer programs, and include volunteers who may not be quite ready to show, but need encouragement and advice. All shows and programs will be vetted but the arts commission.

Open most Thursdays to Sundays from noon to 5 pm, or by appointment or by chance. For more information, e-mail or call 860-355-6009 and leave a message (we are getting new phones, so if no one answers, please call back!
